The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 Municipal Capital Works (MCW) and Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP). The deadline for applications is November 13, 2020.
This annual call for application is open for all incorporated towns, local service districts, and Nunatsiavut and Inuit community governments in Newfoundland and Labrador that are currently not under a Multi-year Capital Works agreement. There are three project categories:
- Water, wastewater, disaster mitigation
- Recreational projects, Community/Council Buildings, Fire halls
- Roads and other funding requests
Eligible project expenses are far reaching. In all project categories funding can cover consultant fees and expenses, costs related to operation of site, relocation of public utilities affected by construction, property acquisition where approved by the department, preliminary studies, testing, and property and road reinstatement where impacted by project.
It is important to note that COVID-19 related funsding through ICIP will be released separately. PSD reached out to the province to confirm that there are no new details on the expected ICIP COVID-19 Resilience Stream.
